Disc Priest PvP Build

Posted June 14th, 2008 by admin

This World of Warcraft spec is for Disc priests for long survivability in PvP situations. It combins stronger buffs such as power word fortitude and reflective shields, with lower casting time of mana burn and pain supression. The .5 second mass dispell is also nice! Toss in healing focus and you’ve got yourself a PvP machine!

Well, you have the cookie cutter build there with a slight change (adding reflective shield etc). While I like the lower mana drain casting time, I think the lower dispel casting time is worthless. I also agree with healing focus, but have my pvp priest spec’d like so.

    41/7/13

I can’t load wowhead at work, so i can’t see exactly how u have it, and I can’t show u exactly where the points go except by just explaining it. You forget about the reflective shield. It’s nice, yes, but sometimes it will break cc’s and there are better places to use the points. 2/2 Imp Mana drain, 5/5 enlightenment, 2/5 of whatever the talent is that lowers casting time on instants and these 2 are simply to get to the next lvl down in the tree. 2/2 Martyrdom (which will proc even if your resilience makes a crit a regular hit instead). Add that martyrdom to 2/2 healing focus, and 3/3 imp renew, and 2/5 in the talent that reduces spell dmg. Then over the SHADOW tree w00t. 5/5 in whatever that talent is that creates a stun 10% of the time, 2/2 imp shadow word:pain, 1/1 mind flay, 2/2 imp psychic scream.

the mind flay is absolutely wonderful when the dps gives up trying to kill you and goes for your dps. suddenly they are super slow, and the psychic scream being lowered SEVEN full seconds with 4/4 gladiator and the shadow points is VERY strong.

with a bit of very high lvl pve gear and a majority of pvp gear and 400 resilience this build is OP against almost anything. the only changes I would make if you were going to bg a lot instead of arena is add spirit tap. you will never run out of mana, this is the same also if u are grinding. I never had to drink once from 16-70 hardly, and that is very little exaggeration.

hahaha I just looked up that wowhead link and that build sux

  3. BlueHealer Says:

How can reflective shield break CC? If the mob is CC’d it isn’t going to be doing damage obvisously.

How can you put 2/5 to lower the casting time of instants? They’re already instant.

Why waste 5 points in spirit tap if you’re healing thats what this spec is for. You won’t be landing any killing blows. If you’re going to be farming/grinding then yes 5/5 spirit tap is good, but then you wouldn’t be disc/holy to do it either.

Again this is for healing, and not doing damage or farming/grinding. The shadow talents you’ve thrown out will be a joke anyway.

    @ Blue Healer

You have some points, but all in all I think you don’t understand what a priest can do. A pvp priest isn’t for healz only, by ANY means. If you are spec’ing for Arena, spirit tap is worthless, yes. If you are going to farm, or bg a lot, spirit tap is a MUST. Shadow Word: Death is a VERY good tool to get a killing blow.

Reflective shield. Say you have a mage, and so does the other team. Your mage starts casting polymorph halfway into the other mages fireball. The fireball gets off, then he gets poly’d then the fireball reflects back and takes off his cc. I believe dot’s also reflect dmg? If not, it still can happen the way I described.

Mind flay is also very nice at keeping a big ass melee dps off your mates.

The 2/5 doesn’t reduce casting time of instants, jesus do you think blizzard would actually leave that talent point like that?? rofl. It lowers mana cost of instants.

Sigh……you’re right, his build sux, but you don’t seem to know any better lol.

  5. Noob Says:

As of 2.4 reflective shield does NOT break cc. Hahah

  6. Fail Says:

Do any of you know how a priest works? Priests arnt made to heal in Arenas thats for pallys and druids and shammys, The priest job is to A) Drain them of mana B) Fear Bomb C) add surivivalbilty to your partners D) and just plan surivive.

I main a priest and I just tank 1 guy in an arena while my partner kills the other off Its pretty simple when you get down to it
